Presenter | Angela Vanek
Angela Vanek is the Director of Enterprise Project Management at Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), where she leads the organization’s enterprise strategic portfolio, governance model, and project delivery practices. In this role, Angela partners closely with executive leadership to ensure high‑impact initiatives are aligned to strategy, appropriately governed, and positioned to deliver meaningful outcomes for veterans and their families. With nearly two decades of experience spanning nonprofit, healthcare, life sciences, SaaS, and technology‑enabled services, Angela brings a pragmatic, value‑driven perspective to project and portfolio management. Prior to joining WWP, she served as Business Relationship Manager for Life Sciences at STERIS, reporting to the CIO and supporting a global business unit focused on capital and consumable sales and services. There, she aligned technology investments to business outcomes, led cross‑functional delivery teams, performed ROI and risk analyses, and applied Lean Six Sigma principles to improve business and operational processes. Previously, Angela spent more than six years at Cleveland Clinic, where she held progressive PMO leadership and senior project management roles supporting complex medical and operational initiatives. Her portfolio included enterprise‑critical efforts such as COVID‑19 testing and vaccine distribution, major technology upgrades, cybersecurity response, large‑scale clinical and operational transformations, and national‑level event readiness. Her work required close collaboration with clinical teams, support teams, and executive leadership under highly regulated and high‑stakes conditions. Earlier in her career, Angela held senior program and project roles at Fleetmatics (now Verizon Connect), TOA Technologies, Progressive Insurance, and TMW Systems, leading large‑scale enterprise implementations, systems integrations, and business transformations across North America and the UK. Angela is a PMP‑certified project leader, holds multiple Agile and Lean credentials, and is passionate about advancing project management maturity through clear governance, value‑focused decision‑making, and practical portfolio management. She is particularly interested in helping organizations move beyond “project delivery” to ensure the right work is prioritized, funded, and executed at the right time.
